São Paulo – The participation of Brazil-based companies in APLF, a leather and fashion industry show that took place in Dubai from March 30 to April 1, allowed them to achieve business agreements for USD 8.7 million. Six companies of components for leather, footwear and artifacts from Brazil participated: Magma Indústria e Comercio Têxtil Ltda, Corium Química Ltda, SystemHaus Ltda, Noko Quimica, Química Carioca, and Tanac S/A.
The participation was developed by the industry’s internationalization project By Brazil Components, Machinery and Chemicals by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
On-site sales grossed over USD 2 million. Other agreements were agreed upon for the future. The Brazilian space received visits from importers from India, Turkey, Pakistan, Oman, China, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and others.
“We noticed a movement of international buyers that seek to substitute their imports of components from China due to rising freight costs and trade issues. In this context, Brazil stands out as the most relevant supplier out of Asia, featuring a quite complete productive chain combining quality, design and sustainability,” Assintecal International Market manager Luiz Ribas Júnior was quoted as saying in a statement.
