São Paulo – Brazilian agribusiness exports to Saudi Arabia grew 28.9% in July compared to the same period in 2024, reaching USD 231.52 million, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock reported on Tuesday (12). Alongside the United Arab Emirates, which imported USD 233.8 million, down 26.8% over the same period, Saudi Arabia ranked among the ten main destinations of Brazilian agribusiness exports that month.
Year to date through July, Saudi Arabia’s imports totaled USD 1.46 billion, an increase of 2.2% compared to January–July of last year. China, the European Union, the United States, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, India, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia have remained the leading destinations of Brazilian agricultural and livestock products this year.
China accounted for 34.1% of the USD 97.52 billion that Brazil exported in the sector, the European Union 14.7%, and the United States 7.9%. Saudi Arabia holds a 2% market share as a destination of Brazilian agribusiness, and the UAE 1%.
In the year, the top products exported to international markets, according to the ministry, are soybeans, green coffee, fresh beef, sugar, pulp, fresh chicken, soybean meal, cotton, corn, and fresh pork. The sector’s imports, in turn, grew 5.8% between January and July this year compared to the same period last year, reaching USD 11.9 billion. Fertilizers were the main products purchased during the year, totaling USD 8.2 billion, up 19.8% over the first seven months of 2024.
