Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s BR Distribuidora posted a net profit of BRL 263 million (USD 72.90 million) in Q2 2018, a 275.7% hike in comparison to the BRL 70 million (USD 19.40 million) registered in the same period of last year. The consolidated data of the Petrobras subsidiary came out Wednesday (1) evening via a statement to the market.
The data shows that the country’s market leader in fuel distribution registered an increase of net revenues in all areas and a 21.2% growth in comparison to the same period of last year and of 4.9% over Q1 2018.
According to BR Distribuidora, the result reflects the company’s strategic planning focusing on improving profitability. “The second quarter of 2018 was marked by the truckers’ strike and showed the company’s ability of overcoming eventual contingencies regarding the sector in which it operates.”
