Rio de Janeiro – The economy in Brazil saw 1% growth in Q3 from Q2 this year. The information is from think tank Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)’s GDP Monitor report. The think tank’s calculations are not the official measure of GDP in Brazil.
FGV reports 1.7% expansion in year-on-year Q3 and a 1.6% hike in the 12 months through September. September-only numbers show growth of 0.4% over August and 1.1% over September 2017.
The 1% growth seen in Q3 was driven by all three major productive sectors, with services up 0.7%, industry up 0.7% and agriculture up 2.4%. Out of all industry subsectors, construction grew the most at 1.5%. Process industries grew by 0.7%.
