São Paulo – The Algiers International Fair (FIA-2023) takes place from June 19 to 24 at the Palais des Expositions in Algeria’s capital city. FIA is the largest multisectoral trade show in the North African country. The Embassy of Brazil in Algiers is organizing the participation of Brazilian companies in the 54th edition of the event.
To this end, the embassy opened a call offering free areas in the event for Brazilian exhibitors. Remaining costs related to the show like transport and accommodation will be borne by the companies.
Applications must be made via email at secom.argel@itamaraty.gov.br. The deadline is on Thursday, June 13, 2023.
As it’s a multisectoral event, companies from different sectors can apply. The only requirement to participate is that they are Brazilian companies and showcase goods or services made in Brazil.
Besides the exhibition area, the Embassy of Brazil in Algiers told ANBA other demonstrations and/or tasting sessions can be organized during the show, according to the company’s proposal. There isn’t a sideline schedule for the show yet, but the Commercial Department added meetings with Algerian companies can be arranged if requested by Brazilian businesspeople.
At the last edition, FIA received over 45,000 visitors and 700 companies, 187 of them being foreign. Algeria is one of the four largest economies in the African continent, with 45 million residents and a gross domestic product (GDP) of USD 193 billion as per last year.
In 2022, Algeria-Brazil trade reached USD 3.1 billion. Brazil exported USD 1.917 billion to Algeria and imported USD 1.182 billion. According to the embassy, the Algerian government has worked to diversify the economy, as well as strongly supporting the establishment of joint ventures with foreign groups.
