São Paulo – The Fortaleza City Hall and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) will sign a memorandum of intent in October to boost investments by the United Arab Emirates institution in the Ceará state’s capital, according to information released by the city government on Friday (20). The municipality’s secretary of international relations, João Bosco Monte, was in Abu Dhabi last week, where he met with the ADFD’s head of partnerships and international cooperation, Ali Humaid Alderei.
The signing of this agreement will take place as a result of a visit made by the mayor of Fortaleza, Evandro Leitão, to the UAE last March. A delegation from the ADFD is scheduled to visit the city in September.
“This series of appointments with the UAE is very positive for Fortaleza. We expect that this cooperation results in investments that can bring improvements for the entire population of the municipality,” said Monte in a statement released by Fortaleza City Hall.
