Rio de Janeiro – The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 0.4% in Q2 2019 from Q1. GDP reached BRL 1.78 trillion (USD 429 billion) in the period. Data was made public this Thursday (29) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
GDP climbed by 1% from a year ago, 0.7% year-to-date and 1% in 12 months through June. From Q1 to Q2, the hike was driven by growths of 0.3% in services and 0.7% in industry. Agribusiness slid by 0.4%.
