São Paulo – Marajó Island is highlighted inside the Brazil Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Until December 19, the country is displaying the beauty and culture of the archipelago in the state of Pará with Expo Marajó. The goal is to attract investments for the infrastructure sector. The universal exhibition is taking place in the United Arab Emirates.
The exhibition is occurring at Sala Igarapé. There, visitors can stroll around the Pavilion’s ground floor, with colorful houses floating on the water. Every house installed in the Pavilion has an exhibition of pictures.
The environment is a reproduction of life in the municipality of Afuá, in the state of Pará, in the northern region of Brazil. The city is located in lowland, and it is suspended on stilts. Even streets and houses are floating above rivers.
The event is sponsored by the Legislative Assembly of Pará (ALEPA), the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses of the state of Pará (SEBRAE/Pará), the Agriculture and Livestock Federation of Pará (FAEPA) and the Goods Trade, Services, and Tourism Federation of the State of Pará (Fecomércio/PA).
The space’s official opening occurred on December 10, International Human Rights Day. Among the authorities present were the Brazilian ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Fernando Igreja, and the Brazilian minister for Women, Family, and Human Rights (MMFDH), Damares Alves.
