São Paulo – Brazil’s oil production went up 8.8% in July in comparison to the same month of 2014, reaching 2.46 million barrels daily, while the production of natural gas went up 8.5% in the same comparison, reaching 95.3 million cubic meters daily. In total, Brazilian production in the seventh month of the year was of 3.066 million barrels of equivalent oil per day. The data was released on Tuesday (1st) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural gas and Biofuels (ANP).
In the pre-salt layer, the production was of 812,100 barrels of oil per day and 30.5 million of cubic meter daily of natural gas, a little above the 1 million of barrels of equivalent oil, an increase of 8.4% over June. According to ANP’s statement, around 92.5 % of oil and gas output were extracted from fields operated by Petrobras.
