São Paulo – Brazil’s vice president Hamilton Mourão traveled on Sunday (26) to Egypt, where he is staying until Thursday (30) for an official visit. Among other activities, Mourão will attend the launching of the office of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in Cairo on Wednesday (29). The institution already has an international office in Dubai, United Arab emirates, and will now have two foreign bases. Pictured, the vice president boarding.
According to information made public by the Vice Presidency, in addition to the event of the ABCC, Hamilton Mourão will have meetings with Egypt’s president Abdul Fattah Khalil Al-Sisi, Defense minister Mohamed Ahmed Zaki and prime minister Mostafa Madbouly. The Vice Presidency said that Mourão will seek to “strengthening ties with that Arab Republic that is hugely important in world geopolitics.”
After passing through Egypt, the vice president will travel to Dubai, where he will open Brazil’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai to start on Friday (1). In the UAE, Mourão will also be the guest of honor on Sunday (3)’s Brazil-UAE: Amazon Economic Sustainability Forum to be held by the ABCC.

Before leaving to Egypt, Mourão posted on his Facebook page: “The friendship ties that bind Brazil and Egypt, the UAE and Greece together will be strengthened in the following days. I am travelling to these countries to talk with their leaders, promoting foreign trade and investments in Brazil and presenting the Brazilian efforts in the pursuit of sustainable development, particularly in the Amazon, coupled with the protection and preservation of the Forest.” After passing through the UAE and before returning to Brazil, Mourão will have meetings in Greece.
