São Paulo – The vice president of Brazil, Hamilton Mourão (pictured above), will participate in the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, a world’s fair to start on October 1in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Expo 2020 is an exhibition in which countries show their best, and Brazil will have its pavilion.
According to information disclosed to ANBA by the Vice-Presidency of Brazil, Mourão will be the central Brazilian authority at the opening of the Expo. He will open the Brazil pavilion on the morning of October 1 – the exhibition will continue for six months until March 31, 2022. The vice president will cut the ribbon for the opening of the space, which will be in the Expo’s Sustainability District.
“Expo Dubai will be an important event to show the world the efforts of the Brazilian Government in the quest for sustainable development, especially in the Legal Amazon, along with protection and preservation of the forest. It is also an excellent opportunity to attract business, optimize agribusiness and the industrial economy, promote tourism, innovation, and diversify international markets,” stated the Brazilian Vice Presidency office via email to ANBA.

The Brazil Pavilion will highlight sustainability with the motto “Together for Sustainable Development,” divided into nature, people, and tomorrow. The sub-themes will be “Together for Nature, Together for People, and Together for Tomorrow.”
On the same subject, the Brazil – UAE Amazon Economic Sustainability Forum, in which the vice president will participate, will take place at the Conrad Hotel, in Dubai, on October 3. The event, which will be broadcasted over the internet, is organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in the UAE, the Ministry of Economy of the UAE, Union of Arab Chambers (UAC), and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
Vice president Mourão will have a schedule in the UAE from October 1 to 4, according to the Vice Presidency. In addition to opening the Brazil Pavilion and attending the forum, he expects to visit other pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai, meet with authorities in the UAE and participate in a business meeting organized by the ABCC. On his way to the UAE, Mourão will pass through Egypt and, on his way back, through Greece.
