Rio de Janeiro – The Business Confidence Index (ICE) measured by the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) was up 0.6 point from May to June, reaching 92.6 points on a scale of 0 to 200. As per information made public this Monday (1) by the FGV, this is the first increase of the indicator, which comprises confidence levels in industry, services, trade and construction, since last January.
The confidence of the businessmen in the future, as measured by the Expectations Index, rose 1.1 point to 99.3 points. The perception on the current business situation, as measured by the Current Situation Index, rose 0.3 point in June, to 89.9 points. Among the sectors surveyed, only industry slid: -1.5 point. The other sectors posted a rise in confidence: services (2.2 points), trade (1.2 point) and construction (2.1 point).
