São Paulo – The Brazilian Tile and Stone Exhibition (Revestir), which begins today (24), in São Paulo, should include the participation of buyers from over 40 countries, among them the United Arab Emirates, Libya and Saudi Arabia. Importers were brought by the Buyer Project, in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Association of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers (Anfacer). The event ends on Friday (27) at the Transamérica Expo Center.
Anfacer expectations are for the fair to generate US$ 145 million in business, which should represent 12% more than in last year’s edition. Revestir, which is the largest fair in the sector in Latin American and the fourth main fair in the world, should have 180 countries and hope to receive 40,000 visitors from 65 countries. Apart from national producers, there should be exhibitors from Spain, Argentina, Turkey and Italy, which will have a 395 square-metre stand with 10 companies that produce machinery and equipment for ceramics.
According to the superintendent at Anfacer, Antônio Carlos Kieling, in a press statement disclosed by the organisation, there was growth of 30% in registration for participation in the fair when compared to 2008. "The fair has already become the great factor for leverage of business this year," he said.
Exhibitors this year bet on more resistant products, colourful and with textures, form and design, versatility and luxury finishing as well as a concern with sustainability. Among the novelties to be presented are golden, silver and bronze tiles by Mazza, ecotiles and ecoceramics made from the decomposing and recycling of fluorescent lights, by company Lepri and triangular stainless steel tiles by Mozaik.
In the sidelines of the fair, the International Forum on Architecture and Building should be promoted, and should receive specialists from Brazil and abroad for talks about architecture, design, techniques for production of ceramic tiles and perspectives for the sector.
Image Project
Aligned to the Buyer Project, Anfacer and Apex count on the fair’s Image Project, to bring 12 journalists from different countries to promote the event abroad. Among the vehicles participating is magazine Architect Middle East, from the United Arab Emirates.
