Premiere ICArabe celebrates the Institute of Arab Culture’s tenth anniversary and shows national and Latin American productions with Arab themes. The exhibit starts in São Paulo, on February 03.

Zaatari – Children of the War, exhibit by Brazilian photographer Gabriel Chaim, brings 25 images of the lives of children who have escaped the conflicts in Syria. The show is open until February 07 in Belém, in the Northeast of Brazil.

The Arab television channel will show two films made in Brazil under the Project Viewfinder, which sponsors documentaries about social issues in Latin America. One shows the reality of the homeless in São Paulo and the other Haitian immigration in Acre.

The Abu Dhabi airline transported almost 12 million people last year, about 16% more than in 2012. The volume of cargo transported was also the highest in the company’s history, with 486,753 tons.

According to the World Tourism Organization, tourist flows reached an all-time high from January to September this year. A total of 845 million people have travelled internationally.

Fabiana Barreiro, doctoral student at Unesp, was honoured for her research on the effects of disinfectant on pre-slaughter chickens. She participated in a conference in the country in November.

At a meeting on Monday (9th) and Tuesday (10th), Brazilian and foreign scholars will discuss the coexistence of different traditions, including the Arab, the Christian and the Jewish. A Lebanese researcher will give a lecture.
