In the past ten years, Arab culture ceased to be regarded as merely exotic by many Brazilians. Language courses, film festivals, translations and academic works have proliferated.

According to Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism, in the first half this year, R$ 6.1 billion were granted to companies in the industry. In the same period of 2012, loans amounted to R$ 5 billion.

Over 50% of educational institutions managed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East are not functioning due to the ongoing conflict in the Arab country.
