Tourists from the country spent abroad US$ 939 million in April. There was a 25% increase in values as against March. The figures were influenced by the dollar and by the increase of income among the population.
The number of tourists visiting the continent should almost double by 2020, according to a report by the World Tourism Organization. Last year, 44 million people visited the continent, in which there are nine Arab countries. In 2020, the continent hopes to receive 77 million tourists.
According to the director at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing of the emirate, Hamad Mohammed bin Mejren, at least 20,000 visitors are expected, as against slightly more than 10,000 in 2007.
