Tourists from the country spent abroad US$ 939 million in April. There was a 25% increase in values as against March. The figures were influenced by the dollar and by the increase of income among the population.

The number of tourists visiting the continent should almost double by 2020, according to a report by the World Tourism Organization. Last year, 44 million people visited the continent, in which there are nine Arab countries. In 2020, the continent hopes to receive 77 million tourists.

The city, situated on the banks of the Nile, attracts crowds of European tourists, including celebrities like former president Jacques Chirac. The site, famous for its landscapes and history, also served as inspiration for one of the novels by Agatha Christie.

The hydro-mineral station should be the first enterprise by Baden Baden Hotels and Tourism, a company that belongs to them both. Investment in the project should reach 90 million Brazilian reals (US$ 52 million).

Embratur estimates that the annual expenses of foreign tourists may reach this value up to 2010. Last year the total spent by visitors was US$ 5 billion and, in January 2008, the total reached US$ 600 million.
