Exports by agricultural and livestock cooperatives in the southern Brazilian state to the Middle East and North Africa grew 94% in the first quarter of 2008 compared with the same period last year. Brazilian exports of ground and milled coffee to Saudi Arabia grew 316% in volume and 291.8% in revenues in the first quarter this year, compared with the same period in 2007. The Arab country was the 12th largest buyer of coffee sold under Brazilian brands in foreign countries.
