Brazilian exports of dairy products to the Arabs reached US$ 41.6 billion in the first four months of this year. The largest buyer was Sudan and the product most sold was powdered milk.

On the 35th anniversary of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, the federal government has announced funds of 914 million Brazilian reals (US$ 548 million) for expansion of agricultural research up to 2010. The plan also forecasts the establishment of a private company connected to Embrapa to operate, mainly, in the foreign area.
