The 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was celebrated on Tuesday (11) in Brasília in an event held by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brazil. In a statement published on Wednesday (29), the Brazilian government welcomed the announcements made by Spain, Ireland and Norway on recognizing the State of Palestine and said the growing number of countries that have done so is a significant historical advance.
