Agência Brasil Brasília – Around 9 thousand police and security personnel will be mobilized to guarantee the security of heads of State and delegations attending the summit between Arab and South America Countries next week in the Brazilian capital from Monday (9) to Wednesday (11). Yesterday (5), some of them took part in training exercises.

Egyptian Foreign Relations Minister states that there are many immigrants who went to South America and that it is necessary to re-establish a connection with them. This attitude, according to him, is the first step to strengthen trade and economic relations. It even comes before the political level.

On May 9, famous names from Arab and South American cinema will discuss the matter at Cine Academia. Today begin the Arab and South American cinema exhibits, to take place in parallel to the summit between heads of states of both regions. Marco Farrari, one of the curators, believes that cultural activities will improve the ties between both regions.

The Argentinean delegation to travel to Brazilian capital Brasília next week will include representatives of seven private and government organizations, apart from local companies. Argentina had revenues of US$ 2.1 billion with sales to the Arabs last year, but according to the secretary general of the Argentine-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Sattam Al Kaddour, the country has conditions to multiply its exports to the region by two or three.

Currently there are no direct aerial routes between Brazil and the region, and there is only one maritime line. Most goods traded need to be shipped via Europe, which increases prices and reduces competitiveness of Brazilian products. During the summit, a solution for the problem will be discussed.

Hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, transport, trade and services in general are the sectors to register the greatest growth. Simultaneous interpretation is one of those ready for profit. The meeting will be translated to Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and Arabic. Around 80 interpreters have been hired.
