Ambassador Nelson Antonio Tabajara de Oliveira has taken over as head of the representation of Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in São Paulo. A visit to the Arab-Brazilian Chamber on Monday (17) marked the beginning of the diplomat’s talks with the chambers of commerce established in São Paulo.

The countries that make up the BRICS house more than 40% of the global population and account for over a third of the world economy. With a reformist agenda for the international order, the group works to increase its global influence.

By October, the country granted 13,000 requests for refugee status. Actions were also taken to improve the living conditions of these populations in Brazil, such as agreements to offer courses and measures to facilitate employment.
