A tree originally from Paraná state capital Curitiba was planted last week in the gardens of Lebanon’s Usek university to mark the 70th anniversary of the Arab country’s diplomatic ties with Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay.

The country’s National Dialogue Quartet won the accolade for its contribution to the building of a plural democracy in the African country post-Arab Spring. The announcement was made this Friday (9th).

The state’s capital Recife is vying for the new aerospace hub with Fortaleza and Natal, also in Northeast Brazil. ‘I believe we have the best technical qualifications,” said state secretary for Tourism Felipe Carreras.
