According to the World Tourism Organization, tourist flows reached an all-time high from January to September this year. A total of 845 million people have travelled internationally.

The project is part of the emirate’s financial crisis recovery plan. The new development will include 450 restaurants, shops, marinas, hotels and villas. The government expects 22 million visitors per year.

According to Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism, in the first half this year, R$ 6.1 billion were granted to companies in the industry. In the same period of 2012, loans amounted to R$ 5 billion.
