São Paulo – Dubai will build a new canal. The project should cost approximately US$ 545 million, and is part of the emirate’s recovery plan from the financial crisis it experience in 2009 and 2010.
The canal will span three kilometres, including shops, entertainment centres, 450 restaurants, marinas for yachts and four luxury hotels. The development should be completed by 2017.
The project also includes the building of high-end villas, bicycle lanes and pedestrian bridges. The Dubai government expects the area to attract 22 million visitors per year.
