São Paulo – Between the 23rd and 25th, the Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (Abrava) should promote International Business Roundtables to bring together 18 buyers from Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The meetings should take place during the 16th Febrava, which begins on the 22 at Imigrantes Exhibition Centre, in São Paulo.
From the Middle East, there should be a representative of company Fawaz, from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, who is interested in refrigeration equipment and air conditioners. According to the program manager, Leila Vasconcellos, this should be the first time the Arab company participates in the event. "Some of the companies already know Brazilian technology, but do not yet have the country as a supplier," she said.
These are the third roundtables that the Abrava promotes at the sector fair. In the first, in 2005, twelve foreign buyers participated in the Buyer Project. In 2007, the number rose to 14, and this year it should reach 18. "It is already a renowned Febrava event," said Leila. According to her, in the last edition, sales totalled US$ 1 million and, for this edition, expectations are for the companies present to do business of around US$ 1.4 million.
Despite the focus of this edition being on the countries of Latin America, Leila believes that the Arab market is very interesting for sector companies. "The Emirates are a gateway into other countries in the region," said the manager, who recalled participation of some companies in the next edition of the Big 5 Show, to take place in November, in Dubai.
According to Leila, business roundtables are a way for international buyers to learn how to improve relations with producers. Currently, the main Brazilian markets are the United States, Europe and Latin America.
