São Paulo – Conceito Brazil, a company that promotes international events, wants to take a group of Brazilian businessmen to the Elenex, a trade show for the electric power industry that will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from May 24th to 27th. The fair comprises the engineering, generation and distribution segments.
According to the director of the company, Tatiana Rodrigues, the intention is to take a delegation of 10 people to visit the fair and get to know the local market. There will not be a booth for Brazilian companies to showcase their products in, as opposed to the Saudi Build and Saudi Agro-Food fairs, which are also promoted in Brazil by Conceito. All of the events are organized by the Riyadh Exhibition Company.
Saudi Arabia plans on investing US$ 80 billion in power generation and transmission over the next 10 years, according to information disclosed early this month by the country’s deputy minister of Electricity, Saleh Al-Awaji. Economic growth and a rapidly increasing population are boosting the demand, and heavy investment is required in order to ensure the supply.
According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Brazilian exports of electric material to Saudi Arabia totalled US$ 23 million last year, representing growth of nearly 300% over the figure recorded in 2008, which was US$ 8 million.
Tatiana informed that aside from the main fair, two exhibitions will be held on the sidelines: Aircom, for the ventilation and air conditioning sector; and Luminex, for the lighting industry. In addition to participating in the events, Conceito intends to organize technical visits for the Brazilian businessmen.
The businesswoman added that the cost of the trip is around US$ 3,800, and enrolment is open until May 15th.
