São Paulo – The cooperative Agroindustrial Lar, from the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, is to receive financing worth US$ 7.1 million from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to establish a poultry breeding farm. The cooperative will produce 57 million hatching eggs per year in the cities of Santa Helena and Matelândia, in the interior of Paraná.
The project will have a total investment of US$ 11.9 million and foresees also the expansion of the production capacity at the incubatory to 170,000 chicks per day. The cooperative has 7,693 participants and 3,467 employees, and acts in the agriculture and livestock sectors, as well as in the agro-industrial business, producing and selling foodstuff.
