Council of Ambassadors welcomes new Saudi representative

Arab diplomats in Brazil offered a welcome dinner to the incoming Saudi Arabian ambassador to Brasília, Ali Abdullah Bahittam.

São Paulo – The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil welcomed incoming Saudi Arabia ambassador Ali Abdullah Bahittam over dinner on Wednesday (24) evening in Brasília. The event took place at the Embassy of Palestine, with diplomats and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s CEO Tamer Mansour in attendance.

Palestine ambassador to Brasília Ibrahim Alzeben extended his compliments to the Saudi diplomat. Alzeben is the dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors.

Prior to his post in Brazil, Bahittam served a stint at the Saudi Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. He is also a former director of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Civil Society Organizations Department, from 2011 to 2014, and he worked in Saudi permanent missions with the UN in Geneva and New York.
