São Paulo – The leading trade fair for the shoe sector in Brazil, the International Shoes, Sportsgoods and Leathergoods Fair (Couromoda) generated a turnover of 6 billion reals (US$ 3.3 billion) in business deals during its four days, ending on Thursday (17th). The turnover was 11% greater than recorded in the 2007 edition. More than 77,000 professionals from 75 different countries visited the fair, including visitors from Arab countries.
The event, held at Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, counted on the participation of 1,100 exhibitors. This was the 35th edition of the fair. The next edition is already scheduled to take place on January 2009, from the 12th to the 15th, at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, in the southeastern Brazilian city of São Paulo.
