São Paulo – In the business roundtables during the 27th São Paulo International Dentistry Congress (Ciosp), which took place between January 26th and 28th, Brazilian suppliers of sector equipment made contacts that could generate US$ 7.1 million in exports over the coming 12 months, according to information disclosed yesterday (02) by the event organizers.
At the event, deals closed reached US$ 64,000. The negotiations took place between 31 Brazilian companies and 22 international buyers. The roundtables were promoted by the Brazilian Association of the Industry of Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Articles and Equipment (Abimo) and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
According to a press statement by the organisation, there were 470 meetings in the three days of the event. Participants included importers from Asia, Africa, Europe and South, Central and North America. In the last edition of the fair, perspectives were for deals of US$ 3.9 billion.
The executive director at the Abimo, Hely Maestrello, said in a press statement that greater business estimates reflected the industry’s strategy of investing in technological innovation, but without forgetting competitive prices.
"The quality of our products may be compared to those made in Europe and the United States. Prices, in turn, are closer to those of the Asian market," stated Maestrello, according to the press statement.
