Rio de Janeiro – The establishment of a partnership between the Federal Data Processing System (Serpro) and the Ministry of Transportation of Brazil for the development of the Sisportos Portal, to link the main Brazilian ports through a digital network, was published on in the Brazilian Official Gazette on Friday (25). The contract was signed on Thursday during the 25th National Foreign Trade Meeting (Enaex).
The solution will bring together information regarding 90% of the throughput in the foreign trade area, concentrated in approximately 40 ports around the country.
Currently, information regarding cargo throughput may only be collected at the organizations that manage the sector, and it is always old. With the implementation of Sisportos it will be possible to accompany the information online, and it will initially be integrated into the Integrated Foreign Trade System (Siscomex) and into the Shipping System.
According to information supplied by a spokesperson for the Serpro, the new application will make it possible for the state to control and efficiently check information contained in the systems that involve the entire process for the foreign sale of products.
