São Paulo – Qatar’s ambassador in Brasília, Mohammed Alhayki (on the left in the picture), received the medal Grã-Cruz da Ordem Nacional do Cruzeiro do Sul, the highest commendation given to foreign nationals by the Brazilian government, in a dinner offered in tribute to the diplomat by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Relations (Itamaraty) on Wednesday (13) evening in Brasília.
Alhayki, who is leaving his post after nearly six years in Brazil, received the medal from Itamaraty’s under secretary-general for Africa and the Middle East, Fernando de Abreu (on the right in the picture). On Thursday (14), the ambassador was paid a tribute at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, in a dinner offered in São Paulo.
