São Paulo – The dollar value ended with a drop in relation to Brazilian real at this Wednesday (2), the first working day of the new Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro’s administration. The US currency dropped to a value of BRL 3,81, down by 1.69%.
Ibovespa, the benchmark index of the Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo (Bovespa), started with 3.56% rise, reaching 91.012 points at the end of this Wednesday, setting a record. The previous record, 89.820 points, was registered at 3 December 2018.
At today’s session, the stocks with the best performances were Eletrobras’ (up by 20.72%), Eletrobras PNB’s (up by 14.52%) and Sabesp’s (up by 9.11%). The new minister of Mines and Energy Bento Albuquerque said he will continue the privatization process of Eletrobras. The stocks of the arms manufacture Taurus rose 47.65% (preferred) and 50.52% (ordinary). Bolsonaro vows to lax gun control regulation in Brazil.
