São Paulo – The dollar ended the week with the lowest value in the month at BRL 4.05, a decline of 0.59% this Friday (21). It fell for the third straight day and 2.86% in the week. The North American currency hadn’t posted a decline so sharp since the week that ended on July 14, 2017.
The Ibovespa, the main index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), ended this Friday going upward, 1.7% to 79,444. The surge seen in the week, of 5.3%, represents the second highest gain of 2018, rolling back the decline of the last two weeks. Shares of large companies went up, with the highlights being Vale and Petrobras, with stocks going up 2.85% and 1.36%, respectively.
