São Paulo – Special parties with a Brazilian music DJ and samba shows will take place in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on the days of the matches of the Brazilian and Portuguese national teams in the Qatar World Cup. The events will take place at the ISD Dubai Sports City, a big sports complex in the emirate, starting this Thursday (24), when the Brazilian team makes its debut in the competition against Serbia, and the Portuguese team will play against Ghana. Tickets are on sale on the ISD website and app.
The events will occur on November 24, 28, and December 2. Brazil and Portugal will play on the same days in the World Cup group stage. The attractions will start at 7:00 pm GST and will mix the screening of the matches with performances by DJ Milla and the samba group Soul Brasil (pictured above). Milla is a Brazilian artist and will play World Cup songs and Brazilian, Portuguese, and world music. If the teams pass the first stage of the competition, the idea is for the parties to continue to take place at the ISD.
On November 24, the event will start at 7:00 pm GST with DJ Milla, continuing at 8:00 pm with the Portuguese national team’s match against Ghana, a samba show at 10:00 pm, and ending with the game between Brazil and Serbia from 11:00 pm. On November 28, the DJ will open the event at 7:00 pm, followed by a match between Brazil and Switzerland at 8:00 pm, a samba show at 10:00 pm, and the game between Portugal and Uruguay at 11:00 pm. On December 2, the program starts with a match between Portugal and South Korea at 7:00 pm, DJ Milla at 9:00 pm, the Soul Brasil samba group at 10:00 pm, and Brazil playing against Cameroon at 11:00 pm.
The venue is the official fan zone of the World Cup. The parties for Brazil and Portugal’s matches are organized by ISD in partnership with the company Yalla Brasil, owned by Brazilian entrepreneur Milena Fernandes, DJ Milla. The complex will also host the transmission of other World Cup games, but Milla is betting on the success of the Brazil-Portugal events due to the musical attractions.
Something that could also contribute to the good acceptance of the event is that the sports complex is very convenient for families with children, with a space dedicated to the little fans. Milla explained that due to the proximity to Qatar, many fans are staying in Dubai, which has been buzzing the emirate, with broadcasts of matches in different locations. The entrepreneur expects the participation of Brazilians, locals, and foreigners at the ISD. She sees a lot of support for the Brazilian team in the UAE, as the team is one of the favorites to win the World Cup in Qatar.
Milla has experience in events for the Brazilian community in Qatar, as her company has them as its focus. On Saturdays, Yalla Brasil will hold samba circles. Living in Dubai for 12 years, the Brazilian dedicated herself entirely to promoting events in 2021. Before, she worked at a cosmetics and fashion company and multinationals in the sports sector but decided to move to a different field. “I’ve always enjoyed organizing events to bring this Brazilian culture to the UAE,” she said.
Tickets for the Brazil-Portugal parties in the ISD Dubai Sports City fan zone are on sale for AED 75 (about USD 20.4 at the current rate). With the ticket, fans will get an AED 100 (about USD 27.2 at the current rate) voucher for drinks and food inside the venue. Accompanied children under 13 will have free admission. Tickets are on sale online (link below and in the first paragraph).
