São Paulo – The impacts of the COVID-19 vaccination on the economic recovery of the Arab countries will be topic of an online conference that the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will host on Wednesday, 5, from 9 to 11 am (BRT). “Since the economy of the Arab countries starts to show some encouraging signs, we decided to host this webinar to show how the mass vaccination is impacting the Arab markets and what can be expected from the rest of the year,” ABCC secretary-general & CEO Tamer Mansour explains. EuroMoney Country Risk expert Helmi Hamdi will address country risk, particularly the situation of the United Arab Emirates, which has a high rate of immunization, and other Arab countries that have also shown a good performance in vaccination and a subsequent economic upturn such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Hamdi is a collaborator at the The Daily Journalist news website, was a senior economist at the Central Bank of Bahrain and holds a doctor degree in Finances, among other titles and positions.
Other speakers who’ll address their views on the current situation of the Arab markets are Alain Wehbe, exports manager at Brazil’s Bauducco food company, and Issam Hassan, Lebanese Brazilian businessman who owns a trading firm in the UAE that sells Brazilian brands. “We want to hear from them how the pandemic has affected business and how the consumption will be after the vaccination starts,” says Mansour.
ABCC Market Intelligence manager Marcus Vinícius will address the topic in the webinar, too, and give details on a survey on consumption changes the pandemic has caused in the Arab countries. The survey was carried out by H2R Pesquisas Avançadas research firm and commissioned by the ABCC. The head of the ABCC international office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo, will give an overview on the economic resumption in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. ABCC president Osmar Chohfi will open the conference, while Mansour will close it. ABCC Marketing & Content director Silvana Scheffel Gomes will moderate.
The conference will feature translation into English and Brazilian Portuguese.
Participation is free, and registration is open.
