São Paulo – The Brazilian Men’s National Football Team is expected to play a friendly match against Egypt on June 6 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The game will be part of the teams’ preparation schedule for the World Cup, which will take place in the US, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
The CBF reported that the contract for the match still needs to be signed. As part of the World Cup preparation, coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team will play friendlies against France on March 26 in Boston and against Croatia on March 31 in Orlando. Brazil’s farewell match is scheduled for May 31 against Panama at the Maracanã in Rio.
The players of the Egyptian national team will also face Saudi Arabia and Spain in World Cup preparation matches. Brazil is in Group C of the World Cup, alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. Egypt is in Group G, with Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand. The last friendly between the two teams took place in 2011, when Brazil won 2-0.
