São Paulo – The deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Industry of Egypt, Ashlaf El Rabiev, presented to the Brazilians the opportunities and incentives for foreign investments in the country. The presentation was today during the opening of the Brazil-Arab Countries Business Meeting in São Paulo, organised by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCAB).
According to him, during the last years, Egypt signed many trade agreements that connected the country to the world. One of the examples is the Mercosur-Egypt framework agreement – signed in July 2004.
According to El Rabiev, the Egyptian government foreign investors offered tax exemption from 5 to 10 years, depending on the project presented. "The factories that are installed will have complete exemption and clearance to hire the workforce, as long as the percentage of foreign employees is respected.
There are free zones in Egypt that offer the same exemptions advantages in certain areas of the country.
