São Paulo – The company Spinalex is planning to export 100% Egyptian cotton to Brazil. Based in Alexandria, the company used to do business in the country a few years back and now it wants to resume sales here.
“Our development plan includes the opening of new markets in different countries,” said Najwa Hasan, the company’s sales manager in an interview via email to ANBA.
According to Hasan, the company could do direct sales to Brazilian clients, but it prefers to find a representative in the country. “We want to open new markets and we are seeking Brazilian companies to work with us in our businesses,” said Hasan.
Spinalex’s output is 118 tons of cotton yarns monthly, with the majority of this production being exported. “From our output, 80% goes to exports. Our main markets are Italy, Turkey, Portugal and France,” says Hasan.
According to the executive, Spinalex’s annual revenues range from USD 25 million to USD 30 million. Founded in 1959, Spinalex also exports cotton to the United States and Canada, plus other Arab countries.
