São Paulo – Egyptian companies in the marble and granite sector are going to participate once again in Vitória Stone Fair, a fair in the sector that is scheduled to take place from February 10th to 13th, in Espírito Santo. Companies Iso Marble, Marmonil, Sinai Marble and Redigran are going to show their products with the support of the Egyptian Trade Office in São Paulo and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Exhibitors from the Arab country are participating in the event for the fourth year running. "Participation in the fair made the volume of business rise and opened new opportunities," said to ANBA the head of the Egyptian trade office, minister Mahmoud Mazhar. "This year we hope to make further contacts with Brazilian companies," he added.
According to the diplomat, Egypt may be an alternative for marble suppliers to Brazil. He said that the Egyptian product has good cost-benefit relations. The quality is good and the price is "very competitive" if compared to Italian marble, for example.
The 27th edition of the fair should unite 350 exhibitors, being 85% Brazilian. According to the organisation, it is the largest exhibition in the area in Latin America. Apart from the Egyptians and Brazilians, the event should also count on companies from Italy, China, Turkey, Israel, the United States, Argentina and Spain.
The organisation hopes that 20,000 people visit the fair, being 12,000 from Espírito Santo, 6,000 from other Brazilian states and 2,000 foreigners. There should be exhibitions of machinery, inputs for the industry and also service providers and sector organisations.
The organizers believe that the exhibition should serve as a thermometer of the impact of the international financial crisis in the field of ornamental stones.
