Cairo – The Brazilian stand at Cairo International Fair is still attracting businessmen engaged in doing business with Brazil. This is the case with Mohamed Hosni, administrative director at the company in the marble and granite sector. "He asked us to provide information about Brazilian exporters of marble and granite," said the foreign trade assistant at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Hans Lazarte Lima.
The company is specialized in the processing of marble and granite. "We also do maintenance of equipment connected to the work with this material, like cutting machinery," explained Hosni. "In my internet research I discovered that Brazil has a great potential in this sector and that marble and granite are the products that presented best quality worldwide," he said.
According to Hosni, this was the reason that took him to the Brazilian stand at Cairo International Fair. "I am finding means to establish contact with Brazilian companies in the sector, learning their names, having access to their product price lists," he said. He is also interested in collecting information about companies that work in the sector of industrialisation of marble and granite.
Apart from the quality factor, the price also caused Hosni to seek new sources for supply of marble and granite for his company. "I noticed that European prices are getting higher and higher, which makes our working with them harder by the day. And that is why I started seeking new sources for supply of these products," he said.
According to Lima, the Egyptian showed great interest in the samples of marble and granite and in the catalogues of Gramazon, a Brazilian company in the sector.
In parallel with the work developed at the stand, the Marketing assistant at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Karina Cassapula, had meetings with Egyptian organizers of sector fairs to discuss possible future participation of Brazilian companies in events. "But we hope that this is a movement on two lanes, that is, that both Brazilian companies participate in specialized Egyptian fairs and Egyptian companies show their products at fairs of the kind in Brazil," said Karina.
She met three representatives of institutions specialized in the organisation of sectorial events in Egypt: OK Trust, which organises fair Lacasa, specialized in high-end furniture and decorations, Prestige, connected to the food sector, and Egymedica, which is a fair specialized in medical and hospital equipment.
