São Paulo – Egyptian company Oriental Fruits doubled its exports of garlic and frozen strawberries to the Brazilian market in 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year.
Wael Soliman (pictured above), general manager of Oriental Fruits, said the company exports to ten countries in Europe, four in Africa, and five in Asia, in addition to Brazil, and intends to enter more Latin American markets.
Oriental Fruits was an exhibitor at the supermarket sector APAS Show last week, in the capital of São Paulo, in a space for Arab brands organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
According to Soliman, the participation was motivated by the performance in the first APAS in which the company participated in 2022, after which it started exporting garlic and frozen strawberries to the Brazilian market.
After doubling sales to Brazil this year, the Egyptian company also intends to supply the country with grapes and medjool dates. For grapes, there is already an export agreement.
The CEO of Oriental Fruits informed the company’s exports total around 10,000 tonnes a year, representing about 90% of the production.
According to him, the company, established in 2003, has certifications in food safety, hygiene, and social impact, emphasizing ISO 22000, Global GAP, BRC, SMETA, GRASP, and BIO.
Oriental Fruits produces a variety of agricultural items, including citrus fruits, oranges, pomegranates, dates, garlic, onions, fresh and frozen strawberries, black-eyed peas, and peas.
