São Paulo – Brazil took part in Milipol Qatar, the defense industry show in Doha, Qatar that ended on Wednesday (17). Tuesday saw the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (pictured above) pay a visit to the Brazilian pavilion. Brazil was one of a few countries with standalone pavilions at the show.
The Brazilian stand was organized by the Brazilian Defense and Security Industries Association (Abimde) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), with support from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.
During the show’s opening, Brazil’s pavilion had been visited by another high-ranking official: Qatar’s prime minister and minister of Interior Khalid Bin Khalifa Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. Visitors also included Doha Insurance Group chairman Nawaf Bin Nasser Al-Thani and delegates from South Korea, Turkey, Tunisia, Pakistan, Switzerland and Malaysia.
Nine Brazilian companies were featured at Milipol: Atech, Avibras, CBC, Condor, Embraer, Kryptus, M&K, Siatt, and Taurus, in a bid to broaden the Brazilian industry’s foothold on the international market.
