São Paulo – The Emirate of Sharjah’s Research, Technology, and Innovation Park free zone (SRTIP) has registration open for startups to participate in the third edition of its acceleration program. The program requires companies to have initiatives linked to one of the eight sectors of the project. The topics are water technologies, energy, design, architecture, transportation and logistics, digitalization solutions, environmental analysis, and sustainable economy.
SAIA seeks innovative projects that need mentoring and resources to reach their full potential. The initiative also has the differential of helping to integrate startups into the wealthy economy of the Middle East, which seeks new axes of economic and social growth.
According to the CEO of SRTIP, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, the project has the support of companies such as Amazon, Google, and Intel. “[The program] was created to help local and regional entrepreneurs transform their ideas into true global solutions with the help of our business center in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates,” said Al Mahmoudi in a statement.
There are two registration models. The Standard is free to apply; in this model, 20 participants will be selected to compete for the USD 50,000 prize, attend workshops, receive support services from over 100 ecosystem partners, and access state-of-the-art equipment.
The other is in the Priority model. In this format, startups need to pay USD 75,000 at registration but are guaranteed to participate in the program and compete for a USD 100,000 prize for the best project. Priority participants will also have other benefits such as office space, access to factories and equipment, and regular one-on-one meetings with government and corporate entities.
During the program, finalists will still have the opportunity to connect with program sponsors through individual mentorships and group sessions.
