São Paulo – The Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates Airline, from Dubai, launched this Thursday (16) the Emirates Pets, a new air transportation service for pets. The service now offered by the carriers has news features, such as the transportation from one airport to the other without an escort, as well as the possibility to make reservations for return flights for the pets to over 160 destinations. The pet’s owner will be responsible to complete the forms and the necessary clearances for the transportation of an animal from one country to another.
Plus, Emirates SkyCargo signed a partnership with Snoopy Pets, a Dubai-based pet transportation services company, to offer a new premium door-to-door transportation, the Emirates Pets Plus, in 16 markets. This service plans the full logistics of the transportation, from the client’s home to the destination, plus services to streamline the documentation requirements and the needed veterinary checks. The markets where the carrier is offering its premium service are Bahrain, Brazil, Cyprus, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
In the last two years, Emirates SkyCargo carried over 11,000 pets, mostly dogs and cats. Around 60% of the pets carried took off or landed in the UAE. Nearly three thousand pets traveled to the United Kingdom with the airline in the same period.
Other features offered by the Emirates Pets are the tracking of flight departure, exclusive areas to the pets in the Emirates SkyCargo’s terminals in the Dubai International Airport (DXB) and in the Dubai World Central (DWC), pets handling facilities throughout the world, as well as availability of veterinarian care throughout the transportation.
The Emirates Pets procedures for the well-being of the pets were developed in accordance to the conditions listed at IATA’s Live Animals Regulations to ensure that the pets are well cared during their entire journey.
More details on the Emirates Pets are available in the company’s website.
