São Paulo – Emirates Airline, out of Dubai, UAE just ordered 80 new aircraft, including 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and 50 Airbus A350-900 XWBs. The orders were placed during the Dubai Airshow, which ended this Thursday (21) in Dubai. The deal with Boeing is worth USD 8.8 billion, and the one with Airbus comes out to USD 16 billion, coming out to a total of USD 24.8 billion.
Delivers from both Boeing and Airbus are expected to come from May 2023 all the way to 2028. The deal with Airbus replaces a February 2019 order from Emirates for 30 A350s and 40 A330s.
The carrier said in a press release that the A350 “will enable Emirates to serve a range of new markets, not only in region but also on long-haul missions of up to 15 hours of flying time from Dubai. Emirates intends to equip its A350s with its latest products, and offer different cabin configurations including Premium Economy.”
