São Paulo – A hub focused on the promotion of business between foreign companies and the Africa market. That’s Casablanca Finance City (CFC), the Moroccan project managed by the Casablanca Finance City Authority that promoted an event this Tuesday (1) to present its services to Brazilian executives and business owners and answer their questions on how they can establish their companies in the Arab country. The meeting was held in the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in the city of São Paulo.
CFC focuses on attracting businesses of four categories to the Moroccan city: regional headquarters of multinational companies, financial institutions, corporate services providers and investment companies.
“CFC was created in 2010, but started to offer its status in 2012 and in the last four years near 120 companies have joined us”, said Najwa El Iraki, head of Business Development at CFC. The “CFC Status” is a label that was created by the Moroccan government and that offers advantages to companies from the four aforementioned sectors that are establishing themselves at the financial and economic center.
“The Casablanca Finance City Authority established itself as an attractive structure to these companies by facilitating business procedures, such as speeding up the access to licenses, visas, work permits, among other [advantages], at relatively modest rates to companies and employees,” explained El Iraki.
El Iraki mentioned the good relations between Brazil and Morocco and the well-known interest of Brazilian companies in accessing the African market. To her, Morocco is the best option as a gateway to those countries.
“There’s no better gateway to Africa than Casablanca Finance City. CFC is a cost-effective and stable platform. This platform offers investors something they can only obtain on the ground, which is the access to clients, knowledge, greater proximity to the African continent, business risks assessment and more sustainable relations”, she added.
Among the companies that established themselves in the Moroccan hub there are well-known names to Brazilians, such as Shell, Nestlé, Decathlon, Ford, Accor, BNP Paribas and Mastercard.
