São Paulo – B2E Group, which includes the Brazil 2 Export company, held the launch ceremony of its plant this Tuesday (13) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, in São Paulo. The plant is in Cotia, 35 km from São Paulo, and will produce cosmetics and tools, such as hair dryers and flat irons. “In the first moment, output will be of 20,000 tools per month and of 40,000 liters of cosmetics monthly. Later on, we can increase capacity and output could reach 80,000 liters per month,” said Nazir Farra (picture above), the group’s director general in an interview to ANBA.
With the new plant, the executive expects a 25% to 30% growth in business in 2019. “We have already signed the deals even before the plant began operating,” celebrates Farra. According to him, the plant’s output will go 100% to exports. “We have our brands, but we can also manufacture to other brands, the private label,” explained the executive.
The B2E Group was founded in 2014 in Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais, and transferred its operations to São Paulo in 2015 and, now, is opening its first plant. Throughout its history, the group has exported to 20 different countries, among them Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, which were represented in the event. The group is a member of the Arab Chamber.
During the ceremony, the Arab Chamber’s vice president of International Relations, Osmar Chohfi, talked about the growth potential of cosmetics trade. “In the Arab cosmetics market, Brazil’s still a modest exporter. We have a lot of room to work. From 2012 to 2017, we have increased exports in 35%. We have the capacity of meet the new trends of the industry in the Arab countries and in the world,” said Chohfi on the market’s needs, including producing through sustainable means.
The legal director of the Brazilian Association of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry (ABIHPEC), Antonio Carlos Siqueira da Silva, attended the event. “The Arab market is outstanding. What we have to overcome are the regulatory barriers. It is a challenge when you visit a country to get to know the environment. The first thing is getting to know the country and its history. Only then, you begin to do business,” explained the director in his speech.
Silva emphasized the need for guidance, such as the orientations provided by the BeautyCare Brazil program, offered by the association, in a partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), to small and medium-size exporting companies. “The small companies need programs such as BeautyCare to identify these barriers and a series of requirements to set up export operations,” said Silva on the Internationalization Project of the Brazilian Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry, of which Brazil 2 Export is part.
