Brasília – The World Trade Organization (WTO) released its Trade and Statistics Outlook report on Thursday (12). It shows that Brazil’s share of global exports increased in 2017. Foreign sales from Brazil ranked sixth out of the 30 leading exporters in the world, outdoing countries like the USA, China and Germany.
Value-wise, Brazilian exports climbed 17.5%, exceeding the world average, after going down for five years in a row. Brazil’s share of global exports went from 1.16% in 2016 to 1.23% in 2017.
A record-high crop, higher oil output and good results in finished goods and auto exports were named as drivers of the hike in exports.
