São Paulo – Exports from the southern Brazilian state of Paraná yielded US$ 1.12 billion in July, which represented and increase of 19.43% in relation to the same month last year. Imports in turn added up to US$ 642 million, 91% more than in July 2005. With this, the trade balance surplus totalled US$ 478 million, according to information released today (11) by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The main products exported by Paraná were soy grains, engines, frozen poultry, ply wood, corn, vehicles and sugar. In relation to the products imported, the main ones were oil, vehicles, accessories for cars, wheat and diesel oil.
